Discover Denmark on two wheels.

In Denmark there’s a word to describe the feeling when good friends gather in front of a glowing fire with a cup of hot coffee. The word is hyggelig and at Christensen Cycle Company we use it to describe the essence of our business. It’s our guiding principle and reflected in everything we do.
The trip begins in Copenhagen Airport where we will meet you and hop a train to Copenhagen’s Central Station. At Central Station, you will be issued a bicycle and your luggage is transferred to our transport vehicle. After a quick lunch we will bike 17 km to our first hotel in the Virum / Furesø area. This first leg of the trip really helps break up your jetlag.
On day 2 we will venture out to the sea, cycle through forest and spend some time at the oldest amusement park in the world, Bakken. On day 3 we will cycle around Furesø, stopping at the Open Air Museum. You will also have the option of renting canoes and paddling Mølleåen.
On day 4 your luggage is loaded into the transport vehicle before we begin biking to Hillerød and then on to Helsingør. I speak some Danish and I’ll have some stories to share and “out of the way” paths and bakeries to show you.
Once in Helsingør, we will have a few days for you to take in museums and options of taking the ferry to visit Helsingborg, Sweden, cycle to Hornbæk “Denmark’s Riviera”, visit Louisiana Museum of Modern Art or visit Hamlet’s Castle – Kronborg.
From Helsingør we will bike back to the Copenhagen area for our last two nights, cycling the sites in and around this amazing bike-friendly city.
On Day 9, our final day, we will bike a short distance to a local train station. You will leave the bikes there before taking a 40 minute train to the airport. Your luggage will be transported to the train station in our transport vehicle.
